How do you save accumulated energy on MCP39F511?

The MCP39F511 board's energy counter resets every power down. You need to read the energy counter and accumulate it on a host controller. The energy counter is in watts (W). It is an accumulated power. If the active power is 14 W, the active energy import should increase by 14 W. After accumulating energy for an hour, the data would be in watt-hours (Wh).
