MCP23x17 - I/O Expander Supply Voltage Range

What is the acceptable supply voltage range for the MCP23x17 part number? Is it 4.5 V - 5.5 V or 1.8 V - 5.5 V? The datasheet is not clear.

Voltage range for the E-temp part (e.g., MCP23017-E/SP) is 1.8 V - 5.5 V if operating up to 85°C or 4.5 V - 5.5 V if operating above 85°C. We only supply E-temp qualified versions of this device.
