How can I remotely configure the RN1723 / RN131 / RN171?

The only way to remotely configure RN1723 / RN171 / RN131 is by doing the following:

  1. Once connected through UART and in command mode, send run web_app. This will put the module in AP mode and broadcast an SSID with WiFly-XXX (it's an open network).
  2. Connect to this network with your laptop or mobile device.
  3. Open the browser and go to 192.168.1.1, which brings up the configuration menu. If you need to go to advanced configuration, please check the 'Advanced settings' checkbox, which brings up the 'terminal' tab.
  4. Using the terminal, send the commands remotely to the WiFly module.
  5. Once done, click on Save & Reboot, which reboots the module with the new configuration.
