Where can I buy a MAC address for my device?

You can buy pre-programmed Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EEPROM) containing Media Access Control (MAC) addresses from Microchip. Refer to the "Pre-Programmed EEPROMs" webpage on the Microchip website.

If you wish to have custom MAC addresses for your devices, consult the professional association tasked with assigning MAC addresses, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). IEEE offers Registration Authority programs or registries which maintain lists of unique identifiers under standards and issue unique identifiers to those wishing to register them. The IEEE Registration Authority assigns unambiguous names to objects in a way that makes the assignment available to interested parties. For more information, visit the IEEE Registration Authority "Standard Group MAC Address" webpage.
