Programming a BM23 on a Custom Board

EEPROM Tool ver 2.1.28.4653 identifies the module, however, writing the configuration EEPROM produces the message "Device write EEPROM Fail(byte)!". What should I check?

  • Verify that the configuration and firmware programming modes are entered accordingly to the system configuration I/O pins as shown in "Table 2-1: System Configuration Settings" of the datasheet. You can find the datasheet on the BM23 product page.
  • Verify that the COM port is not opened with another Serial Terminal.
  • When programming, make sure that:
    1. The UART_TXD/ RXD, P20, ADAP_IN and GND pins are connected.
    2. P20 should be on low status.
    3. Measure 5 V on ADAP_IN.

Is the "name frag segment" in the IS20XXS_002 UI v1.00.0 tool freely editable?

Yes, you can edit the name and then make sure to program this setting. The only restriction is the segment length of 32 characters.
