Building the MCP250xx Project in MPLAB® X IDE

How do you fix Error - section '.cinit' can not fit the section. Section '.cinit' length=0x00000004 when the MCP250xx project included in the MPASM™ Suite directory is built in MPLAB® X IDE using MPASM 5.70 assembler?

In order to fix this error, build the project in absolute mode:

  1. Got to 'Project Properties'.
  2. Select 'mpasm (Global Options)'.
  3. Then select 'Build in absolute mode'.
