What can I do when MCP2221 doesn't work on Red Hat® Enterprise Linux® 6.2 (RH6.2)?

We have no solution for Red Hat® Enterprise Linux® 6.2 because it uses an old kernel version, which has general problems on I²C support. We recommend upgrading the system to Red Hat v. 6.5 / 6.6. The MCP2221 was successfully tested on CentOS v6.6 (kernel 2.6.32-504).
