How can I set the VID/PID through the HID interface for MCP2200?

For custom VID/PID, we have a few options:

  • The MCP2200 can be pre-programmed from the factory. This can be requested through the local Microchip Sales office. This procedure might require a business case.
  • If you wish to use Windows®, we recommend downloading MCP2200 Production Utility v1.1 from the "MCP2200 Isolated USB to UART Demo Board page" under 'Documentation & Software'. Use MCP2200 Configuration Utility v1.3.1 to create the config file, and then use MCP2200 Production Utility v1.1 to write it. This is documented in the product datasheet.
