What is the firmware version of a RN171-I/RM and can it be changed?

According to the microchipDIRECT page for RN-171, we have the RN-171 module available with different firmware versions. You can choose one firmware or another based on your application needs. The last digits of the part number represents the firmware version.

This information is available on the RN171 Datasheet. However, there are customers who do not have any requests regarding what firmware is on the module. For this situation, we have RN171-I/RM. This is a generic (standard) firmware. Depending on when the module was produced, the standard firmware may vary. You can check what firmware you have on the module by using the Wi-Fly ls command if you have any module planted in a product.
