Using the KSZ8895 in Unmanaged Mode

Does the KSZ8895 need any kind of prep work (bootloader, registry manipulation, etc.) before it can function in Unmanaged mode?

There is no need for preparation work. An explanation of the requirements can be found in the "Pin for Strap-in Options" section of the datasheet, which can be found on the KSZ8895 product page.
