What pins can I leave floating on the SCH3227?

The +5V_IN pin must be connected! Floating this pin is not optional. The +5V_IN pin connects to the Reset Generation block as well as to the Hardware Monitoring block.

Even though Microchip has not observed any problems with the other pins being left to float, this is not a configuration we encourage. Our recommendation is to connect the pins as follows:

  • : +5V_IN : Must remain connected to a 5 V source.
  • +12V_IN, +2.5V_IN, VCCP_IN : Connect to ground.
  • REMOTE1+, REMOTE1- : Short together.
  • REMOTE2+, REMOTE2- : Short together.
