What does the "-ICD" suffix on an MCU mean?
Devices with the "-ICD" suffix are designed for in-circuit debugger use. These special ICD devices are mounted on the top of a debug header and their signals are routed to the emulator or debugger connector. They usually have a larger pin count because of additional pins that are dedicated to debugging.
ICD devices are only used on the debug headers; they are not sold separately.
For additional information, please read the "Header Board Specification".
