Reprogramming RN2483/RN2903 Module Firmware Using a Programmer

The RN2483/RN2903 modules utilize a standard PIC® microcontroller programming interface which can be used to program the module with a new firmware.
Refer to Figure 3-1 of the RN2483 Datasheet or the RN2903 Datasheet that outlines the required ICSP interface connections to the module. This interface may be used with any of the Microchip programmers supporting In-Circuit Serial Programming (ICSP™) programming (PICKit™ 3, MPLAB® ICD 3 In-Circuit Debugger, MPLAB® ICD 4 In-Circuit Debugger, etc.).

1. To obtain the HEX file image, visit the product page. Under the 'Documents' tab, go to 'Software', then look for a .zip file.
2. Download and extract the .zip file. Within the Binary folder, you should see the following sub-folders:

3. If you are going to program using a PICKit 3 or a similar programmer, then use the HEX file found in the combined folder:

We do not provide the source code for the application that is pre-programmed into the RN modules.
