AN1175 - Pull-up and pull-down resistors in schematic on PGD and PGC

Both ICSP pins (DATA and CLK), RA0 and RA1, are connected to pull-up and pull-down resistors. Since these pins are used for programming by the PICkit, is inserting jumpers to leave both ICSP pins away from the rest of the circuit suggested?

There are three suggested options:

  1. Pull down the potentiometer RV1.
  2. Put in jumpers, but it won't be possible to debug the program.
  3. It may be possible to use ICSP even without jumpers. For this, you can try to set the RV1 to the minimum value (so it has X kΩ between wiper and Vdd) during programming and eventually increasing R25 to a kΩ value may help. You can try to insert a resistor with kΩ values between V_U voltage divider and RA1_ICSP connection.
