RN4870/71 - How do I connect over I²C to an MCU host?

How do I connect the RN4870/71 Bluetooth® module over I²C to an MCU host? What are the commands for controlling the RN4870/71 Bluetooth module over I²C?

The only way to communicate with the RN4870/71 from a host MCU is via UART interface. The I²C that we talk about on the web page and user guide is communicating with an EEPROM that is connected to the RN4870/71. Essentially, the host MCU can use the RN4870/71 to communicate with an EEPROM via I²C.
