Setup MPLAB® REAL ICE™

The MPLAB® REAL ICE™ In-Circuit Emulator is connected to a USB port on your computer and then to the development board. Those steps are described below:

Connect the USB Cable to the MPLAB REAL ICE In-Circuit Emulator.

Connect the USB cable to a USB port on your computer.

Install the PIC® Microcontroller in your development board.

Connect the RJ11 cable to the ICE.

Connect the ICE RJ11 cable to the Programming Port on your development board.

Connect power to your development board.

The REAL ICE cannot power a development board, the board needs to be powered separately.
