Options Window
To access the Options window, select from the main menu: Tools ► Options (Windows and Linux)
mplab_ide ► Preferences (Mac OS)

The Options window contains IDE-wide settings that are independent of any project settings.

Across the top of the window are seven icons representing the settings categories of General, Editor, Fonts & Colors, Keymap, C/C++, Embedded, and Miscellaneous. When you click on one of the icons, the bottom part of the window will change to display settings for the selected category. At the top of this page you can see each of the seven icons. Click on any one of them to go to the discriptions of that category's options.
