Debugger Connection To Target
6-pin RJ-11 or ICSP™ Header
Microchip Technology's in-circuit debugging system makes use of the In-Circuit Serial Programming (ICSP™) connection available on all One-Time Programmable (OTP) and Flash microcontrollers. The ICSP connection consists of a 6-pin cable, typically with an RJ-25 type modular connector (same as the RJ-11 American telephone jack but with all six conductors in use) or a simpler 6 x 1 pin header connector as seen on the PICkit™ 3 in-circuit debugger.
The signals consist of Power, Ground, Clock, Data, Master Clear, and in some cases, Program Mode Enable (for Low Voltage Programming (LVP) on devices that support it).
Signal | Description |
---|---|
VPP / MCLR | Programming Voltage and Master Clear |
VDD | Power |
VSS | Ground |
PGD | Data |
PGC | Clock |
PGM | LVP Program Enable |
