Embedded Wi-Fi®

Microchip has a broad portfolio of ultra-low power 802.11 solutions that are suitable for embedded applications. These fully-certified surface mount Wi‐Fi® modules allow you to quickly and seamlessly add internet connectivity to your applications. The modules’ small form factor, rich features, and ultra-low power make them perfect for mobile wireless applications such as asset monitoring, sensors, and portable battery operated devices.

Depending on your application requirements, Microchip offers three ways to add Wi-Fi connectivity to your design:

Wi-Fi Standalone

SAMW25: MCU + Wi-Fi controller running all stacks

  • Fully-certified IEEE 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi module
  • WINC1500 Wi-Fi SoC plus SAMD21 ARM® Cortex®-M0+ based MCU
  • Can operate completely host-less in most applications

Wi-Fi Network Controller

WINC Series - WINC1500: Wi-Fi core with integrated TCP/IP stack

  • Fully-certified 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi solution
  • SPI Host Interface
  • Security protocols supported – WPA/WPA2 Personal, TLS, SSL
  • Network services – DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP (IPv4), UDP, HTTP, HTTP
