The kit includes an on-board Embedded Debugger, eliminating the need for external tools to program or debug. The kit also has Xplained Pro Analog Module (XAM) that can be used with the Data Visualizer tool to monitor and analyze power consumption in real-time.

SAM L11 Xplained Pro

The SAM L11 Xplained Pro evaluation kit is ideal for evaluating and prototyping with the ultra-low-power SAML11 ARM Cortex-M23 based microcontrollers integrating robust security which includes ARM TrustZone®, secure boot, crypto acceleration, secure key storage, and chip-level tamper detection. In addition to security, the SAM L11 MCU features general purpose embedded control capabilities with enhanced peripheral touch controller and advanced analog.

The SAML11 Xplained Pro evaluation kit can also be used to evaluate the Trustonic Kinibi-M Software Development Kit

The kit is supported by demo examples which include trusted execution environment, secure LoRa IoT node and Amazon Web Services (AWS) & Google cloud enrollment using Trustonic Kinibi-M, additionally, it is supported by water-tolerant touch and keypad touch demos. It has microBUS socket and Xplained pro extension headers to expand the development with Mikroelektronika click boards and Xplained pro extension kits. The kit includes an on-board Embedded Debugger, eliminating the need for external tools to program or debug. The kit also has Xplained Pro Analog Module (XAM) that can be used with the Data Visualizer tool to monitor and analyze power consumption in real-time.

Emulators Debuggers and Programmers

Atmel-ICE Full Kit (ATATMEL-ICE)

The Atmel-ICE Full Kit (ATATMEL-ICE) is a powerful development tool for debugging and programming ARM Cortex-M based SAM and AVR microcontrollers with on-chip debug capability.

Xplained Pro Extensions

I/O1 Xplained Pro Extension Kit

The I/O1 Xplained Pro Extension Kit provides a light sensor, temperature sensor, and microSD card. It connects to the extension headers of any Xplained Pro Evaluation Kit.

QT2 Xplained Pro Extension Kit

The QT2 Xplained Pro Extension Kit is a QTouch Surface extension board for Xplained Pro boards that demonstrates the Peripheral Touch Controller (PTC) as a high-performance touch-surface controller. The PTC controller uses very little power and resources from the MCU, which makes it easy to integrate touch surface support to your main project.

QT3 Xplained Pro Extension Kit

The QT3 Xplained Pro Extension Kit is a QTouch keypad extension board demonstrating an ultra-low power keypad design using the Peripheral Touch Controller (PTC). Utilizing the PTCs low power capabilities it enables markets lowest power wake-up on touch.

The QT3 Xplained Pro requires a compatible Xplained Pro evaluation kit. See the Related Tools tab for supported models.

QT5 Xplained Pro Extension Kit

The QT5 Xplained Pro Extension Kit is an extension kit that enables evaluation of mutual capacitance touch using the Peripheral Touch Controller (PTC). The kit shows how easy it is to design a nice looking capacitive touch interface using the PTC module. The kit includes one board with a curved QTouch mutual capacitance slider and two QTouch mutual capacitance buttons. In addition, the board has 16 LEDs arranged as two 7-segment digits with a colon (two dots) in between.

QT7 Xplained Pro Extension Kit

The QT7 Xplained Pro Extension Kit is an extension board to evaluate self-capacitance touch - robust, water tolerant to the highest extent. The kit demonstrates water tolerant touch using a driven shield or Driven Shield+, depending on the MCU in use. The kit includes one board with self-capacitance slider and two self-capacitance buttons. In addition, it has eight LEDs which enable button state and slider position feedback.

Firmware and IDE

Atmel START

Atmel START is an innovative online tool for intuitive, graphical configuration of embedded software projects. It lets you select and configure software components, drivers and middleware, as well as complete example projects, specifically tailored to the needs of your application. The configuration stage lets you review dependencies between software components, conflicts, and hardware constraints. In the case of a conflict, Atmel START will automatically suggest solutions that fit your specific setup.

Atmel Studio 7

Atmel Studio 7 is an integrated development environment (IDE) for developing and debugging AVR® and SAM microcontroller applications. The Atmel Studio 7 IDE gives you a seamless and easy-to-use environment to write, build and debug your applications written in C/C++ or assembly code. It also connects seamlessly to the debuggers, programmers and development kits that support AVR and SAM devices.

Additionally, Studio includes Atmel Gallery, an online app store that allows you to extend your development environment with plug-ins developed by Microchip as well as third-party tool and embedded software vendors. Studio 7 can also seamlessly import your Arduino sketches as C++ projects, providing a simple transition path from Makerspace to Marketplace.
