Selecting the Compensator

The Digital Compensator Design Tool (DCDT) allows you to select between different types of compensators. You are encouraged to explore the different available options to determine the one that achieves the best overall system performance.

This DCDT Graphical User Interface (GUI) release version includes the following compensators types:

  • 3-Pole/ 3-Zero (3P3Z) Compensator
  • 2-Pole/ 2-Zero (2P2Z) Compensator
  • Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) Compensator
  • Analog Op Amp Type III Compensator
  • Analog Op Amp Type II Compensator

The Compensator Select window, shown in the figure below, allows you to make a selection by clicking on the compensator of interest.
