PIC16F870/871 Limitations

This device family does not require a header for debug and none is available. Device limitations are as follows:

Freeze on Halt Limitations

  • Timer0 will not freeze using the internal clock.
  • Timer0 will not freeze using the external clock.
  • PORT B values change in the Watch window when refreshed after the value on PORTB inputs have changed while halted.
