Custom Part Suffix Meaning

A custom part is a part number licensed to a specific end-customer. In general, a custom part has a differentiation of three characters (letters/numbers) at the end of the standard part number (e.g., PIC10F200-I/P045).

Types of custom parts:

  1. Customized for a Specific Customer - To order these parts, it is necessary to have a Letter of Authorization (LOA) issued by the customer who owns it. The order needs to be placed directly to our Microchip Direct representatives by email or phone.
  2. Automotive - The VAO ending means the part is for automotive applications only.
