Bluetooth® - Licenses and fees. What do I have to do to license a new design?
What fees do I have to pay to use Bluetooth® technology? What do I have to do to license a new design using a Bluetooth module which shows "as certified by Microchip"?
- The licensing of a new design using our module can vary depending on what modifications you add to your device. However, even if you are not modifying it, there are some taxes you have to pay in order to use the Bluetooth technology. To obtain more information based on your project, we recommend you contact the Bluetooth SIG here: https://www.bluetooth.com/develop-with-bluetooth/qualification-listing
- Our certifications can help you certifying the device easier, however, there are several steps you have to consider. The process is also described here: https://www.bluetooth.com/develop-with-bluetooth/qualification-listing/do-i-need-to-list-qualify-my-product
- Refer to this page for qualification and listing fees: https://www.bluetooth.com/develop-with-bluetooth/qualification-listing/qualification-listing-fees
- You also have the option to get in touch with one of the test houses. The test houses typically have Bluetooth Qualification Experts (BQE) who can further guide you through the qualification process: https://www.bluetooth.com/develop-with-bluetooth/developer-resources-tools/service-providers/qualification-testing-services
