Is Metal Over Capacitive (MOC) technology applicable to MTCHxxx and CAP1xxx?

Both MTCH and CAP families work with Metal Over Capacitive (MOC) technology.

  • MTCH102/5/8 devices can integrate up to two, five, and eight capacitive touch/proximity detection sensors which can work through plastic, wood or even metal front panels with Microchip's MOC technology.
  • The CAP family contains individual capacitive touch sensor inputs with programmable sensitivity. Consider setting the sensitivity and gain to the minimum (due to the high sensitivity of MOC designs).
