Can I make a custom cable for the PICkit™ 3 debugger?

Is it possible to create a custom cable to use between the target and the PICkit™ 3 debugger?

Yes, it is possible, but the specifications in the PICkit 3 In-Circuit Debugger poster MUST be followed. Microchip recommends that any cable should not exceed 40 cm (RJ11 to ICSP cable length) or 15 cm (RJ11 to RJ11 cable length).
