Using the Universal Programming Module 2 (AC162049-2)

In order to connect a device to the Universal Programming Module 2 :

  • Verify the pinout diagram from the device's datasheet.
  • Identify the pin number for each In-Circuit Serial Programming™ (ICSP™) signal (MCLR, all VDD, all VSS, PGD, PGC).
  • Use female-to-female wires to connect the ICSP pins on J3 and J4 to J2 and J8.

Note: If the board is being powered externally, the programmer must not be set to provide power. When the programmer supplies power, the J7 jumper must be set to the BOARD VDD position.

The "Universal Programming Module's User's Manual" provides additional information.
