Step 3.1: Configure Switch Button Pin with General Purpose Input/Output (GPIO) Interrupt Handler
In this step, the switch button will be configured as per below switch S1 design schematic of PIC32MX470 Curiosity Development Board.
1
In MPLAB® Code Configurator (MCC), select the Pin Settings tab and sort the entries by Ports names as shown below.
Scroll down to the GPIO pin RD6 (Pin Number 54) in the Pin ID column and configure RD6 as an external interrupt pin for S1 switch functionality as shown below. Internal pull-up is enabled to avoid false edge detection as there is no external pull-up on the PIC32MX470 Curiosity Development Board.
Step 3.2: Configure LED Pin
In this step, the user LED will be configured as per below LED0 design schematic of PIC32MX470 Curiosity Development Board.
Select the MCC Pin Settings tab and then scroll down to the GPIO pin RE4 (Pin Number 64) in the Pin ID column and configure RE4 as an output pin for LED1 functionality as shown below.
The LED1 on the PIC32MX470 Curiosity Development Board is active low. Configure the LED1 in default OFF state by configuring the latch value to logic "High".
Step 3.3: Rename the Default Main File
1
Under the Project Graph tab, click on System, and configure as below to give the name of your liking to the default template main file generated by MCC.
The name of the default main.c is changed to main_pic32mx470.c to indicate that the referred main.c is for the PIC32MX470 getting started training module.
